About Us

Eugene (“Dean”) Laurich began practicing real estate law on Hilton Head Island in 1978. Laurich & Wiseman closed residential and commercial real estate transactions with separate law firms, and they frequently worked against each other. Over time, each became familiar with the other’s area of specialization and legal expertise. They recognized that their legal abilities were complimentary, and they became partners in January 2000 creating Laurich & Wiseman, P.A. The firm grew quickly into two offices to better serve its clients, one on Hilton Head Island next to Sea Pines Circle, and the other in Bluffton in the Belfair Shopping Village. In 2005, Charles Wiseman became a partner with the firm, and the name changed to Laurich & Wiseman, P.A.

The firm employs 26 people to handle its clients’ legal needs. The firm has two attorneys, Dean Laurich and Charles (“Chuck”) Wiseman. Eight paralegals directly assist clients with closing real estate transactions. Twelve other legal assistants, post-closers, receptionists and bookkeepers support the attorneys and paralegal, and the firm has three full time employees at the Beaufort County courthouse researching real estate records.

The firm is a long-standing member of the Palmetto Land Title Association, the Hilton Head Homebuilders Association, and the Hilton Head Area Chamber of Commerce. Our title insurance company writes title insurance with First American Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, and Stewart Title Insurance company, all national leaders in the industry. In 2003, we closed over 3,000 real estate transactions and received the only 2003 Eagle Award from First American Title Insurance Company for our good service and high volume of closings.
